Fire Star Pro Wrestling newest sanctioned member of Pro Wrestling International
by FSPW on 08/29/13

FSPW most recent live event, held August 25th, 2013 featured the PWI International Heavyweight Champion, Shane "The Hurricane" Helms defending the title against the recent 2013 Johnny Weaver Cup Champion, Trevor Lee. It was a defining moment for Fire Star Pro Wrestling as it demonstrated FSPW's recent growth and success.
The event was originally scheduled to feature ROH's Eddie Edwards. However due to circumstances beyond our control, Edwards was unable to attend. Fire Star Pro Wrestling reached out to Pro Wrestling International to see if they could help find a suitable replacement. PWI redefined the meaning of "suitable replacement" by offering one of the most popular wrestlers active today, Shane "The Hurricane" Helms. A packed venue full of enthusiastic fans were thrilled to see the mega-star Helms in action.
Fans weren't the only ones that enjoyed the event. Pro Wrestling International Head of Administration, Danny Wenkel, was in attendance and was so impressed that he reached out a few days later with an offer to become an official member of PWI. It's a relationship that has progressed from a loose affiliation that has featured three PWI sanctioned title matches since June 2012 to now becoming an official member of Pro Wrestling International.
The FSPW Board of Administration was quick to accept the offer to join PWI. FSPW sees this as an opportunity to grow our brand even further and the opportunity to share business models and learn from wrestling companies around the globe.
Everyone at Fire Star Pro Wrestling is very excited about our partnership and new membership with Pro Wrestling International!
